Child Health Nursing

Child Health Nursing

Child Health Nursing, also known as Pediatric Nursing, is a specialized course that focuses on the care of infants, children, and adolescents. The course equips nursing students with the knowledge and skills to assess growth and development, prevent childhood diseases, and manage both acute and chronic illnesses in children. Key topics include neonatal care, immunization, pediatric nutrition, common childhood disorders, and family-centered care. Students receive practical training in pediatric wards and neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), where they learn to provide compassionate and developmentally appropriate care.

This course is ideal for nurses who are passionate about working with children and supporting their families. Upon completion, graduates can work in children’s hospitals, pediatric clinics, maternity centers, NICUs, and community health programs. Child Health Nurses play a crucial role in early disease detection, health education for parents, and promoting healthy childhood development. They can also pursue further studies in pediatric nursing or related specialties to advance their careers and contribute more deeply to the field of child healthcare.
